50 El objetivo del apoyo hormonal natural es restablecer los niveles de hormonas (o de sus precursores) hasta llegar a los normales que tenía la mujer a los treinta o cuarenta años. Un programa integrado que incluya los tres tipos de hormonas (estrógeno, progesterona y andrógenos) es el óptimo, incluso para las mujeres a las que se les ha extirpado el útero. Actualmente, a la mayoría de las mujeres a las que se les ha practicado la histerectomía sólo se les ofrece estrógeno, sin dar ninguna importancia al papel de la progesterona y los andrógenos. Prácticamente son posibles cientos de combinaciones de hormonas, entre ellas de estrógeno, progesterona, DHEA (deshidroepiandrosterona) y testosterona, y se pueden administrar por diversas vías: oral, transdérmica o vaginal. Dado que las opciones son muy numerosas y suelen confundir, recomiendo comenzar con un perfil hormonal para cada mujer que exprese preocupación por la menopausia o manifieste síntomas menopáusicos. También es ideal hacerse este perfil hormonal de base entre los 40 y los 45 años, cuando la mujer no tiene ningún síntoma. Entonces se conocen de antemano sus niveles hormonales ideales, lo cual hace mucho más fácil formular un programa sustitutivo hecho a su medida cuando lo necesite. En estos momentos no hay ningún estudio a largo plazo de grupos grandes de mujeres que hayan recibido dosis fisiológicas sustitutivas de estrógenos. Sin este tipo de información, nunca vamos a ser realmente capaces de contestar a las preguntas que es necesario responder cuando se trata de sustitución hormonal. Dados los informes que se están reuniendo sobre los programas de tratamiento individualizado, me siento muy optimista respecto a este tipo de programas y los recomiendo, por considerarlos muy superiores al método convencional de «talla única». El estrógeno actúa como una hormona del crecimiento para los tejidos mamario, uterino y ovárico. La sobreestimulación de estos órganos por el estrógeno está relacionada con una proliferación celular excesiva que podría conducir al cáncer. En su aspecto positivo, el estrógeno eleva el colesterol HDL (de alta densidad, el bueno) y tiene un efecto beneficioso en las paredes de los vasos sanguíneos; este es uno de los motivos de que la terapia sustitutiva de estrógeno se haya relacionado con un menor riesgo de enfermedad cardiaca. ¿Cuál debería ser mi objetivo durante la meditación? Es paradójico pero tu meta es simplemente ser . . . no hacer. Por eso, dependiendo del tipo de meditación que elijas, sólo haz eso. Por ejemplo: En una meditación mántrica, sólo repite el mantra. En una para tomar consciencia de la respiración, sólo respira. En una meditación drishti, sólo contempla. Es un error de principiante tratar de intelectualizar o agregar algo al proceso. Mientras más sencillo, mejor. Menos es más.

Pero buscas en la dirección equivocada. La dirección está equivocada; por eso no lo encuentras. Y no es que no puedas logrado en tu vida; puedes lograrlo, pero aún así serás un fracasado. Nada te va a satisfacer porque nada puede obtenerse del mundo exterior que sea comparable al tesoro interior, a la luz interior, a la dicha interna.

Cuando el conjunto se mueve sin impedimento, el mismo mo­vimiento en sí es extático. La dicha no es algo que provenga del exterior -es el sentimiento que llega cuando todo tu ser se mue­ve, el mismo movimiento del todo es felicidad. No es algo que te suceda, que surja de ti, es una armonía en tu ser.

Está influenciado por las enseñanzas de escrituras tradicionales indias como el Ayurveda, corriente tradicional de la medicina hindú, los Vedānta y el Bhagavad Gita. Es uno de los seguidores de Jiddu Krishnamurti.

Por eso la gente se encuentra con grandes dificultades cuando empiezan a meditar. Vienen a mi y me dicen, «Es divertido, extraño. Nunca supusimos que hubiera tantos pensamientos». Nunca habían cerrado sus ojos, nunca se habían sentado en una postura relajada, nunca habían ido hacia adentro para ver lo que allí sucedía porque estaban demasiado ocupados con el mundo exterior. Estaban demasiado atareados. Debido a este estar ocupados nunca se dieron cuenta de esta constante actividad interior.        .

¿Qué es lo que dice este mito? Simplemente dice que Mahavira era un remanso tal de energía, una superabundancia tal de energía, una abundancia de Dios tal que, donde estu­viera, la vida se aceleraba. A su alrededor, toda la Existencia se aceleraba. Puede que él no hiciera nada, pero las cosas empe­zaban a suceder.

¿Por qué ocurre esto? En primer lugar, crees que la palabra es la realidad; la palabra dios es Dios, la palabra amor es Amor; que la palabra es real. Y la palabra no es lo auténtico. La palabra so­lamente simboliza, indica, no es lo real. Tienes que distinguir y distinguir claramente, que la palabra no es lo auténtico. Una vez has sido atrapado en la creencia de que la palabra es lo real, cuan­do alguien te diga “Te quiero” te sentirás frustrado. Porque él di­ce que te quiere, tu crees que él te quiere, porque para ti la pala­bra es lo real.

Puedes ser alguien, pero no puedes ser el más grande. Siempre hay alguien en el mundo más grande que tú. ¿Y cuándo se consi­dera que uno es alguien? Tú eres la medida. Tú dices que este hombre es alguien importante, pero, ¿quién es la medida? La me­dida eres tú.

Reiki appeals to us on a mystical level. As human beings we all crave to be touched deeply by something magical and powerful that resonates within our soul. Inherently we already know that we are part of something bigger. When we meet Reiki we can feel that vast potential coursing through our veins. So often I hear people describe their sense of having realized a huge power that feels like it is trying to explode from within them. Something perhaps, that had only whispered to us in the past. Willy has a very special gift. He has a comical snore. He will curl up beside a child, and while they are petting him, he becomes relaxed.
