Take time out to bike with your significant other to a secluded spot in the country, beach or nearby park. Then spend a leisurely afternoon enjoying the summer weather and don’t forget to take a picnic filled with organic foods that stimulate the senses just as much as the landscape does.
Time passed. The baby got bigger and the Crohn’s disease was in remission. I was pregnant with another child. Because I had Crohn’s Disease, this became a high-risk pregnancy. I spent approximately 2 months in the hospital fighting to stay alive. I had a terrible case of morning sickness and my weight was down to 80 pounds. At that time, pets were not allowed in hospitals. At home poor Rocky would sit by the door crying, waiting for me to come home.

Omega-6 and omega-3 fats derive their names from their chemical composition. It’s important to realize that your pet requires both omega-3 (alpha-linolenic) and omega-6 (linoleic) acids in order to thrive.
One useful mindfulness meditation technique is the Buddhist breath meditation, “vipassanna.” In vipassanna you simply observe your breath or use a “breath set” to anchor your thoughts. For a breath set, inhale and count (1, 2, 3, etc.), and once you reach your set, exhale and count (1, 2, 3, etc.). Repeat.
I remember longing for the day that my clients would be more balanced between the sexes. As I worked with hundred’s of starving men who felt shameful for their desires I learned repeatedly that the one true cure to these men’s issues were for them to find empowered women. Women who were strong, confident and very much in the feminine instead of what our society supports where women are to be more like men. Which only causes disconnectedness, more shame, irritation, divorce, lack of libido for both sexes, health issues, sexless marriages/relationships and shear sexual frustration.

Here’s how it happens. The majority of us were programmed from birth to “grin and bare it” regardless of our feelings. As kids our tears, no matter the tragedy behind them, were “jollied” away, or we were bluntly told to “stop crying and buck up”. Our physical size, shape or complexion often met with heartless teasing, our broken hearts with lack of compassion, and the loss of beloved pets or even a parent, were swept conveniently under the rug. As a result we’ve learned to suppress our anguish and without our knowing, this endless stream of neglected emotion continues to create havoc in our physical bodies as long as we remain convinced it’s better to push them down.
Movies that celebrate the spirit of the season are, for me, one of the greatest joys of this festive time of year, and for decades, filmmakers have produced an impressive body of work with this theme in mind. Yet not all of these cinematic offerings deal so much with the holidays themselves as they do with the ideals associated with this special time of year (classics like “It’s a Wonderful Life” readily spring to mind). And this year, there’s a welcome new addition to that roster of pictures, the heartwarming drama, “The Blind Side.”
Consciously or unconsciously, we often pretend we’re far less competent than we truly are by wearing our illusory deficiencies like an armour of pre-formulated justification in case something goes amiss. In an effort to protect our precious egos, we send out a disclaimer to camouflage our perceived imperfections so we can’t be blamed if we make a mistake or so we won’t look dumb for not understanding or for doing something else we think could make us look foolish if our performance isn’t up to some self-imposed expectation.
That is a lot of content my friends. And a lot of ways you can get your message out to your customers and potential customers each day. Not by “selling” them anything – oh no! By engaging with your customers. By offering content (information). By allowing them to post their own messages on your page so you get instant feedback on how well you are doing – or not. And if someone does have a beef … how quickly and appropriately you respond to resolve the issue (that does not mean deleting posts you do not like!).

Consider not serving turkey and cater the whole meal vegetarian. Creative use of recipes flavoured with delicious herbs and spices won’t leave anyone feeling deprived. If you are serving the traditional turkey and all the fixings, add a special vegetarian entrée and meat-free gravy (see recipes below). Focus on providing a wide variety of delicious side dishes. Holiday favourites that are vegetarian include: baked squash, roasted vegetables, wild rice, baked potatoes, cranberry sauce, etc. Make all the appetizers vegetarian. Try hummus, vegetarian pate, olive paste, guacamole, or bruschetta. Your vegetarian guests may offer to bring their own entrée. Letting them bring something may put both you and them at ease.

Since the landmark study published in the September, 1993 Journal of Steroid Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, many other studies have confirmed the conclusion that chrysin is nature’s most effective aromatase inhibitor. A study reported in the May, 2006 Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry studied the effects of several polyphenols on aromatase activity. Again, chrysin was found to be the most capable at inhibiting estrogen production. This study showed red wine, green tea, and black tea also significantly impacting aromatase activity, though to a lesser degree than chrysin.

There is essentially nothing that remains the same in life. The only thing we can always count on is change. And any time we “think” we have found stable ground, we find that sooner or later, the ground begins to fall beneath our feet. Our relationships are guaranteed to change or end, as do our jobs, and our physical bodies. So it makes sense, that if change is the one constant in life, that we find a way to make peace with it. Embrace it. Surrender. This of course, is easier said than done. I do my best to remind myself that it’s okay to feel whatever discomfort I’m feeling in these times. My meditation practice is imperative. The spaciousness that arises in this state, offers me calmness and clarity… and sometimes, that’s enough. I breathe in and breathe out.
Whatever path you choose, it may well be wise to start now. Times are changing. Who knows where the collective consciousness will lead us next? I do believe that if there is more compassion and forgiveness added to the collective, the direction will be more likely to be positive.
